The reason why I called it hysteria is because if you want to a live a happy, successful, suburban middle-class life, or whatever other lifestyle is ideal for you, that is literally impossible in a Mad Max post apocalypse, whereas no matter how much you make the case that racism and discrimination make it impossible for some people to succeed, people from disadvantaged areas of society in the Western World are still able to rise above their station given enough hard work and talent.
